On February 10, 2026, the plenary session of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2026 First Senior Officials' Meeting (SOM) was held in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province.

China yesterday launched the official bilingual website for APEC China 2026, unveiling the core digital platform that will serve as the authoritative information hub for roughly 300 meetings and events during its host year.

From December 11 to 12, 2025, the 2026 APEC Informal Senior Officials' Meeting was held in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, kicking off the APEC "China Year". Deputy Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

China joined APEC in 1991.

APEC is the premier economic cooperation forum in the Asia-Pacific region.
