China will work to promote the adoption of a clear and substantive outcome document at this year’s APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, which will be held in Shenzhen in November, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said yesterday.

More than 1,000 delegates have gathered in Guangzhou from Feb. 1 to 10 to chart the economic future of the Asia-Pacific, as China formally launched its host year for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.

Political advisor Tenniel Chu has proposed leveraging the 2026 APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting as a strategic opportunity to boost Shenzhen’s cultural, sports, and tourism sectors.

The “APEC: Next Stop, Shenzhen!” media tour recently kicked off in Pingshan District, an innovation hub in eastern Shenzhen.

China joined APEC in 1991.

APEC is the premier economic cooperation forum in the Asia-Pacific region.

The APEC Photo Contest began in 2011 to raise awareness on APEC's mission, achievements, and impact on people's lives in the region.
