Shenzhen Bay MixC is set to reshape the city's cultural and commercial landscape following a strategic launch and signing ceremony held in Nanshan Districrt on June 17. The prominent shopping center will introduce four premier cultural venues, among them is Fotografiska Shenzhen, the renowned photography institution's fifth global location and its first permanent venue in South China, scheduled to open Oct. 1.

On June 16, the International Chess Federation (Switzerland) (FIDE) Shenzhen Office was inaugurated in Qianhai, Shenzhen. This is FIDE's first office in Asia since its founding in 1924. With over 200 member associations, FIDE is one of the world's most influential sports organizations.

On June 8, the launch ceremony of the “2026 Future Close-up” was held in Shenzhen. Under the theme "AI for a Shared Future," the event brought together 21 young innovators from 15 countries and regions to visit high-tech companies such as Tencent and BYD in Shenzhen.

TenPay Global, Tencent’s cross-border payment platform, has achieved interoperability with PayPal World. This means PayPal users from around the world can now make seamless payments in China, whether by scanning a merchant’s QR code or presenting their own payment code to be scanned. The service will initially launch for U.S. users, with additional markets to be rolled out in phases. On May 26, Brad Krae, a Shenzhen-based American content creator with more than 200,000 followers on TikTok, tested the feature at Melania Town inside Window of the World in Nanshan District. Using his PayPal wallet, he scanned Weixin Pay QR codes at several merchants — and every transaction went through successfully.

On May 15, the event Discover the Beauty of China · Embrace Dynamic Guangdong kicked off in Shenzhen. Diplomats from eight countries visited Shenzhen Bay Culture Square, Talent Park, Tencent Binhai Mansion and Reform and Opening-up Exhibition Hall. They experienced local scenery, advanced technology, and profound development achievements.

On the afternoon of May 12th, Oliver Coppard, Mayor of South Yorkshire, UK, led a 19-member business delegation consisting of government and industry representatives to visit Qianhai, Shenzhen.

Swiss national treasure Muriel Zeiter and Fabian Bloch, known as DUO GIOVIVO, can play eight instruments in a single performance, from piano to the towering 3-to-4-meter alphorn. In 2026, the duo makes their China debut, starting in Shenzhen. On May 13 and 14, they’ll give three concerts in Futian CBD. The tour continues through May 29, with stops in Guangzhou, Foshan, Shanghai, and Beijing.

On May 9, dozens of young poets, sinologists, and writers from 13 Arab countries gathered in Guangzhou for the opening ceremony of the 2026 International Youth Poetry Festival (China-Arab States Session). They then traveled to Shenzhen on May 11 to seek further creative inspiration.
