Since its establishment in 2019, the Shenzhen Longhua District Career & Entrepreneurship Base for Person with Disabilities has achieved remarkable results: it has incubated 48 firms and organizations, created 220 jobs, 140 of which, or 63%, are held by employees with disabilities. In 2021, the base was recognized by the Guangdong Disabled Persons' Federation as the province's first "provincial-level demonstration base for entrepreneurship incubation for people with disabilities.”

During a visit to Shenzhen last September, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez toured the exhibition “Great Tides Surge along the Pearl River: 40 Years of Reform and Opening Up in Guangdong.” He noted that China’s socioeconomic progress offers a valuable reference for Cuba.

Across China, people celebrated the Lantern Festival with time-honored traditions: families gathered to watch the full moon, admire beautiful lanterns, and solve lantern riddles. Luohu People’s Hospital served the sweet glutinous rice balls — a festive favorite — to every hospitalized patient along with warm greetings, ensuring that all felt the holiday spirit even while away from home.

While most people return to their hometowns for the Spring Festival by car, by train, or by plane, a young man in Shenzhen opted for a less conventional way — walking 310 kilometers back to his hometown Shantou in six days.
