​As China celebrated its week-long National Day holiday — a rare, highly anticipated "Golden Week" that sees the nation’s largest annual human migration — authorities projected 2.13 billion cross-regional trips. Averaging 300 million journeys each day, the holiday saw citizens flock to destinations across the country.

​Shenzhen is glowing with patriotic pride. Streets across the city are lined with national flags, creating a vibrant festive atmosphere as the metropolis prepares to celebrate National Day on Oct. 1.

​The giant panda "Qiubang" celebrated its exclusive 23rd birthday at Shenzhen Safari Park on Sept. 8. The keepers selected pure natural fresh ingredients such as tender bamboo leaves, bamboo shoots, pumpkin, apple, dragon fruit, and carrot to carefully make an exclusive "birthday cake" taking into account "Qiubang"'s dietary habits.

On Aug. 29, 20,000 people took part in a drill at the new Huanggang Checkpoint. They streamed in and out of the 700,000-square-meter joint inspection building and simulated the full customs clearance process.
