Organizers announced a range of seasonal travel products and special offers, including free admission, discounted tickets and curated travel packages. The campaign coincides with Shenzhen’s autumn school break and business travel season.
Songjiang District, known for its history and cultural heritage, announced a weeklong promotion for Shenzhen residents from Nov. 16 to 22. Shenzhen residents and holders of a Shenzhen residence permit or social security card can receive discounts at 15 rated attractions in the district by presenting valid identification. Ten attractions, including Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden and Guangfulin Cultural Exhibition Hall, will offer free admission, while five others, including Shanghai Happy Valley, will offer half-price tickets.
Major Shanghai attractions also announced offers for families, school groups and visitors seeking leisure experiences for all ages.
To mark its 10th anniversary, Shanghai Disney Resort is offering discounted family tickets starting at 107 yuan (US$16), as well as 50 yuan off one-day tickets purchased at least 10 days in advance. LEGOLAND Shanghai Resort is offering vouchers for selected dates at half price or less. The vouchers can be exchanged for off-peak admission on any day from Nov. 14 to 30. Shanghai Wild Animal Park is offering discounts of 30% or more from Nov. 12 to 30.
The Shanghai Museum and Jin Jiang Travel have also developed a themed experience, “From the Tree of Life to the Wutong Lanes.” The package for Greater Bay Area visitors combines admission to the museum’s Americas galleries with a guided tour.
China Eastern has launched a Guangdong-focused promotion, offering discounts of 10% to 15% on eligible routes. Visitors traveling from Shenzhen to Shanghai during Shenzhen’s autumn break, from Nov. 17 to 20, can ride the Shanghai Spring Sightseeing Bus for free by presenting a Shenzhen ID card or medical insurance or social security card.
The promotion aims to strengthen tourism ties between Shanghai and Shenzhen and encourage Greater Bay Area residents to visit Shanghai during the fall and winter travel season. Organizers invited visitors to experience the city’s distinctive blend of Chinese and Western influences.
