Shenzhen-based UBTECH Robotics has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ChinaEU, a Brussels-based association, to expand its presence in the European robotics market and explore new applications for humanoid robots and other industrial robotics technologies.
The agreement, announced yesterday in Chengdu, aims to connect UBTECH’s robotics technologies with European industrial customers, particularly in manufacturing, logistics and other sectors seeking to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
Under the partnership, the two sides will identify business opportunities in selected European markets, develop commercial partnerships and explore ways to integrate robotics into existing industrial operations.
ChinaEU, an international association promoting cooperation between China and Europe in digital innovation and emerging technologies, will draw on its European industry network, institutional relationships and local market expertise to help UBTECH reach potential customers and partners.
The association will also assist UBTECH in understanding European customer requirements, technical integration needs and regulatory considerations.

The cooperation will build on UBTECH’s existing partnerships and distribution network in Europe, with a focus on expanding its connections with manufacturers, logistics operators and system integrators.
“Europe has a strong industrial base and significant opportunities for the adoption of advanced robotics,” said Luigi Gambardella, president of ChinaEU.
“Turning technological innovation into successful industrial applications, however, requires more than innovative products. It requires a deep understanding of local market needs, trusted partnerships and the ability to integrate new technologies into existing industrial processes,” he said.
Gambardella said the partnership would help bridge the gap between robotics innovation and industrial deployment, creating opportunities for cooperation between Chinese technology companies and European businesses.
For UBTECH, the agreement is part of its efforts to strengthen its local partnership network in the European Union and bring humanoid robots and industrial robotics solutions to a broader range of industrial customers.
The two sides may also explore deeper industrial cooperation and longer-term partnerships as they seek to expand the adoption of humanoid robotics technologies across Europe.
UBTECH is the first humanoid robotics company to be listed on the main board of the Hong Kong stock exchange.
