19th Hong Kong Mineral Fair opens next week

The 19th Hong Kong Mineral Fair will be held from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1 at The Harbourview in Wan Chai. Admission is free. No reservation is required. 

Launched in 2007, the annual event is a gathering place for long-time mineral enthusiasts and newcomers alike. There will be mineral specimens, rough and polished stones, fossils, books and equipment for sale. Its 30 exhibitors come from Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland and overseas.  

The event is organized by the Mineralogy Society of Hong Kong. 

Time: 2-6 p.m., Oct. 30; 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Oct. 31 and Nov. 1
