The 2026 C Music Festival at MixC World has concluded after three concerts featuring the New World Chamber Players, a U.S.-founded ensemble, bringing science fiction soundtracks, jazz and violin interpretations of classical and cinematic music to audiences.
The series opened in June with the theme “Interstellar: Love Is the Last Dimension,” blending classical strings and electronic sounds with film scores, anime music and original compositions. The performance explored themes of technology, memory and human emotion.

On July 15, the ensemble presented “Sunset Rhythms: Beyond Jazz,” reinterpreting 16 classics through jazz arrangements and live improvisation. The program combined jazz piano, saxophone, bass and drums, with selections ranging from “Over the Rainbow” to Chinese songs and international pop hits.

The series concluded Sept. 23 with a violin-themed concert at the MixC Theater. The program featured music from films including “Mulan,” “The Godfather,” “Cinema Paradiso” and “The Legend of 1900,” alongside classical works and music from musicals. An improvisational segment invited spontaneous musical expression beyond the written score.

The three concerts aimed to make chamber music more accessible by combining established repertoire with cross-genre arrangements and audience-friendly performances, offering a range of musical experiences for film fans, young audiences and families.
