The two-day “Play Together” sports carnival, which concluded at the Longhua Culture and Sports Center in Longhua District on Sunday, was the city’s first nighttime public sports festival. It aimed to spur sports consumption, raise Longhua’s profile as a sports destination and enrich residents’ cultural and sporting lives.

Designed as an after-work outdoor gathering rather than a professional competition, the festival welcomed people of all ages and fitness levels. No specialist equipment or previous sporting experience was required.

More than 10 recreational sports activities were offered, including individual challenges and team games. Participants collected stamps by completing activities and exchange them for gifts.

The festival extended beyond the sports field. Participants recorded their weight and exercise time online to earn points redeemable for discounts at participating shopping centers.

A market featured food, beverages, sports-themed cultural products and stalls showcasing Longhua’s local sports scene. Live bands and games provided entertainment on an outdoor stage throughout the evening.

The event aimed to make exercise more accessible by combining casual sporting activities with dining, shopping, music and social interaction. It offered residents and visitors an easy way to get moving, meet people and enjoy an active evening in Longhua.
