Step inside Shenzhen's Piano Museum: A masterclass with Tony Yike Yang

"Known throughout China as the "City of Piano," Shenzhen is home to a remarkable institution in Longhua District: a museum dedicated to historic pianos. It stands as the largest of its kind in the country, boasting the most comprehensive collection and the broadest chronological range. Today, we are joined by the museum's director, Xu Jingyan, and the brilliant young pianist Tony Yike Yang, who will guide us through the museum's most treasured instruments.

At just 16 years old in 2015, Yang made history as the youngest prize winner of the International Chopin Piano Competition. This extraordinary achievement sent shockwaves through the global classical music community. For over a decade since, he has maintained a deep and enduring artistic bond with Shenzhen, the "City of Piano."
