Robot-run 24-hour convenience stores debut in Hong Kong

Three Galbot stores opened to the public Sept. 1 in Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Arena, the New Hung Hom Harbourfront and Wan Chai Promenade. Galbot says the stores are Hong Kong’s first 24-hour convenience stores staffed entirely by humanoid robots. According to the company, Xiao Gai can speak multiple languages, stock shelves, process payments, and use voice and visual recognition.
