Shenzhen Talent Park 

Shenzhen Talent Park lies in the Houhai area of Nanshan District, between the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center and the Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base, connected at its southern edge to the Shenzhen Bay coastal leisure belt. Opened on Nov. 1, 2017 — the city’s first “Talent Day” — it is the first park in China to be planned and built around the theme of talent. Phase I covers about 770,000 square meters, of which roughly 300,000 square meters is a central lake; a second phase of about 100,000 square meters opened on Nov. 1, 2024.

深圳人才公园位于南山区后海片区，介于深圳湾体育中心与深圳湾超级总部基地之间，南缘接深圳湾滨海休闲带，2017年11月1日——深圳首个"人才日"——开放，是全国首座以人才为主题规划建设的公园。一期约77万平方米，其中中心湖面约30万平方米；二期约10万平方米于2024年11月1日开放。

The park celebrates something Shenzhen considers one of its most important resources: talent. Every year, young people come to Shenzhen to study, work and build their careers; for a city driven by innovation, talent is the foundation. The people who arrive from across China and around the world bring knowledge, ideas and new possibilities. In 2017, the city designated Nov. 1 as Talent Day to honor that contribution, and the park was built as its physical expression, under the design philosophy “talents are the park’s soul, and the park exemplifies the spirit of the city,” laid out as “one lake, one shoreline and four axes” spanning science, sightseeing, art and sport. Its stated purpose is to thank those who have given their youth to Shenzhen — and to tell newcomers that the city will take care of theirs.

公园礼赞的是深圳视为最重要资源之一的东西——人才。每年都有年轻人来深圳求学、就业、立业；对一座以创新为驱动的城市而言，人才是根基。从全中国乃至世界各地来到这里的人，带来知识、想法与新的可能。2017年，深圳将11月1日设为"人才日"以致敬这一贡献，公园即是它的实体表达，秉承"人才是公园的灵魂，公园彰显城市精神"的设计理念，以"一湖一岸四轴"串联科技、景观、艺术、运动，旨在感谢那些把青春献给深圳的人，也告诉新来者：这座城市会善待他们的青春。

The details reward attention. The Starlight Bridge lines up rows of illuminated pillars that become a tunnel of light after dark. The π Bridge is engraved with 2,017 digits of pi — one for the year the park opened — while a nearby formula corridor displays classic equations of mathematics and physics: an affectionate homage to the engineers who built the city. The Talent and History Landscape Wall narrates Shenzhen’s growth; a lakeside pavilion houses a talent book bar run with Shenzhen Library; and the Qunying Hui functions as a maker centre. Phase II added the “I Am a Shenzhener” sculpture, Reef Square, the Luming Pavilion, a science-innovation theatre, College Grove and Chengfeng Tower, together with some 60,000 square metres of new planting.

细节值得细品。星光桥列柱亮灯后化作一道光之隧道；π桥镌刻公园开园之年——2017位的圆周率；邻近的公式走廊陈列数学、物理经典方程，是对建设这座城市的工程师们的深情致敬。人才与历史景观墙讲述深圳成长；湖畔亭设与深圳图书馆合办的人才书吧；群英汇则作创客中心。二期增设"我是深圳人"雕塑、礁石广场、鹿鸣亭、科创剧场、学院林、乘风塔，及约6万平方米新绿化。

For daily life the park is unusually generous: a 2.5-kilometer lakeside running track in the park’s signature sky blue, self-service shower rooms, children’s playgrounds, free drinking water, Wi-Fi, phone-charging stations and robot coffee bars. Academician lectures, themed talks, drone light shows and coffee-and-music festivals take place here, and on weekend evenings the lakeside stages regular light shows.

公园对日常生活格外慷慨：2.5公里天蓝色环湖跑道、自助淋浴间、儿童游乐场、免费饮用水、Wi-Fi、手机充电站、机器人咖啡吧。院士大讲堂、主题讲座、无人机灯光秀、咖啡音乐节在此举办，周末夜晚湖畔还有常态化灯光秀。
