Shenzhen-Italy Friendship Park

Nestled between the East Gate of Shenzhen Children's Park and St. Anthony's Church, the Shenzhen-Italy Friendship Park is an exquisite green space jointly created by Chinese and Italian design teams. Its defining character is an authentic Italian terraced garden aesthetic.

Viewed from above, the rigorously symmetrical terraced axis unfolds in cascading tiers, echoing the tiered fountains carved from pristine Carrara white marble. Ascending the gradually rising stone steps, six white marble sculptures of historical luminaries stand in quiet dignity on either side: Marco Polo, Matteo Ricci, Xu Guangqi, Lü Tongliu, Fu Lei, and Giuseppe Castiglione. They seem to pause and await every passing visitor, inviting all to listen for the echoes of time itself.
