Macao government self-service kiosk launched in Shenzhen

The “Macao Easy” self-service kiosk (E-Serviços Governamentais da RAEM) has been launched at the Shenzhen Municipal Government Service Center, enabling Macao residents who live and work in Shenzhen to access 38 frequently used government services without traveling back to Macao.

The expansion has also added kiosks in Foshan and Dongguan, as well as two towns in Zhongshan. The network now covers eight cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), two towns and the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, with 12 service venues in total.

The Shenzhen kiosk integrates services from 11 Macao government departments across seven categories, including social welfare, identity certification, tax inquiries, municipal services, voter registration, transportation and immigration. It covers 38 high-demand services, such as applications for proof-of-life certificates, medical voucher transfers and pension fund withdrawals.

New identity-document services have also been added, including applications for personal data certificates, kinship certificates and association registration records. Applicants can receive electronic certificates through the “Macao One Account” (“Conta Única de Macau”) app, or have their documents collected by designated representatives in Macao or Hengqin. They can also collect them from “Smart Collect” (“Recolha fácil”) document lockers.

The user-friendly kiosk features facial recognition, QR code payment and a “care mode” for users with special needs. On-site staff are available to provide assistance.

In addition to the new Macao kiosk, Shenzhen has deployed Hong Kong Cross-Boundary Services kiosks and iAM Smart in Qianhai and Hetao, and established “Hong Kong-Macao E-Station” service centers in both locations. The “iShenzhen” app now includes a Hong Kong-Macao section offering 24/7 services in areas such as housing funds, social security and entry-exit matters.

Macao has pledged to continue working with Guangdong authorities to expand the government service kiosk network to more cities in the GBA. It is also exploring integration with Guangdong’s “粤智助” kiosks and video-based service features.
