China's first domestically built large cruise ship launches SZ season

Adora Magic City, China’s first domestically built large cruise ship, has launched its Shenzhen season, which will run through Sept. 16. 

The ship departed from Shekou Cruise Homeport last Thursday on its inaugural voyage from Shenzhen, bound for Vietnam. The departure was marked by a traditional water-salute ceremony. 

Carrying nearly 4,600 passengers, the ship called at Chan May Port, serving Hue, during the five-day, four-night voyage. 

The voyage is Adora Magic City’s first international cruise route departing from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Through Sept. 16, the Shenzhen season will offer five-day, four-night and six-day, five-night itineraries to destinations including Chan May Port in Hue, Ha Long Bay and Cam Ranh Port, serving Nha Trang, in Vietnam, as well as Jeju in South Korea. 

A special nine-day, eight-night voyage is scheduled to depart from Shenzhen on Aug. 27. It will call at Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia, Muara in Brunei and Nha Trang in Vietnam, following a route connected to the ancient Maritime Silk Road. 

China’s second domestically built large cruise ship, Adora Flora City, is scheduled for delivery Nov. 6 and is expected to embark on its maiden voyage from Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Homeport on Nov. 22.
