Italian printmaker Fabio Riaudo has won first prize at an international printmaking competition in Sardinia, Italy, for a body of work that included two pieces created during his 2025 residency at the Guanlan Printmaking Base.

Riaudo received the first prize dedicated to Enzo Di Martino at the Premio Internazionale Incisione Contemporanea in June 2026, which was organized by Sardinia-based cultural organization Casa Falconieri.

During his residency in Guanlan, Riaudo created three works, two of which were included in his prize-winning entry. The works were exhibited at the DART Museum in Sardinia, Italy from June 21 to Aug. 13, 2026, with further exhibitions and presentations planned.

Born in Turin in 1993, Riaudo is a printmaker and musician. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in printmaking from the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti di Torino and has exhibited in Italy and elsewhere in Europe.

He became a member of the Italian Contemporary Engravers Association in 2019. In 2021, he received a full scholarship from the Il Bisonte Foundation in Florence and joined the institution as a teaching assistant the following year.

Riaudo specializes in intaglio printmaking while also exploring new forms of painting rooted in printmaking techniques.

The Guanlan Printmaking Base provides visiting artists with specialist facilities and opportunities to create, exhibit and exchange ideas with fellow practitioners. The base regularly welcomes printmakers from China and abroad and supports emerging and mid-career artists as they develop their practices and connect with the international printmaking community.
