Seven branch centers of the Shenzhen Book Donation and Exchange Center will join forces to host a synchronized book swap event from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Aug. 22. Citizens are invited to bring their idle books to the nearest participating location to exchange them, giving old books a new life and connecting with fellow book lovers.

The seven branches span multiple districts, including Longhua, Bao'an, Guangming, Longgang, Pingshan, and Yantian. Participating venues include the Shenzhen Library North Branch, Bao'an District Library, the new Longhua Library at Egret Lake Art Center, Guangming Culture and Art Center, Guangming District Children's Library, Longgang District Library, Pingshan District Library, and the Wutong Pavilion at Wutongshan Forest Meeting Hall.

The event follows a "one-for-one" exchange rule, with a limit of five books per participant. Eligible books must be printed within the last ten years by official mainland Chinese publishers and be in at least 80% new condition. Acceptable genres include social sciences, literature, business and economics, philosophy, and lifestyle. Magazines, journals, professional technical books, textbooks, teaching aids, workbooks, as well as books that are worn, discolored, defaced, or otherwise unsuitable for exchange, will not be accepted.

Established in 2012, the Shenzhen Book Donation and Exchange Center champions the spirit of reading and sharing. It accepts book donations, provides book exchange services, and organizes public reading promotion events, serving as a public service platform for the sharing and circulation of reading resources.
