Yantian's 19.5km coastal bike path now fully open

A 19.5-kilometer coastal cycling route has officially opened along Shenzhen’s eastern shore in Yantian District, running from Shatoujiao’s Guta Park to Beizaijiao in Xiaomeisha. The path connects key scenic spots including Yantian Seafood Street, Dameisha and Xiaomeisha beaches, and TianqinBay, offering cyclists uninterrupted access to the city’s most picturesque seaside landscapes. 

A path thoughtfully upgraded

The new route resolves long-standing issues with disjointed pathways and mixed-traffic conflicts. Transport authorities have seamlessly woven together greenways, waterfront promenades, coastal boardwalks, and municipal sidewalks into a single coherent corridor. Where the path previously shared space with heavy freight vehicles, dedicated cycling lanes have been introduced with clear signage. At intersections, green buffers now provide safe separation between pedestrians, vehicles, and cyclists, enhancing both safety and flow.

Scenery shifts at every turn 

The ride rewards cyclists withever-changing coastal views. The Yantian’s 19.5km coastal bike path now fully open Shatoujiao section meanders through Haijing Park, offering sweeping ocean panoramas, while the Boluoshan–Tianqin Bay stretch features a striking three-tier design that combines roadway, greenway, and boardwalk — allowing riders to take in the scenery without ever leaving the path. Afor mer bottleneck at Yanmei Road has been replaced by a new boardwalk, eliminating congestion and unveiling full sea-and-mountain vistas.

Yantian Port viewing platform: 

Capture panoramic views of massive cargo ships and red gantry cranes. The afternoon light around 3 p.m. is particularly flattering, especially for striking silhouettes. 

Dameisha coastal boardwalk:

A 270-degree ocean view awaits, with waves occasionally splashing onto the walkway. For the best shot, go low and frame the sea against the expansive sky. 

Beizaijiao Boardwalk & Lighthouse: 

At the eastern terminus of the route lies the ruggedly beautiful Beizaijiao Boardwalk, winding past clear-water coves and fascinating rock formations. The highlight is a classic red-and-white lighthouse, best photographed during the golden half-hour before sunset — though caution is advised on slippery rocks. 

Getting there

For hassle-free access, dedicated cycling buses connect downtown areas to the route, eliminating parking and commute concerns. Book through the“深巴通行” (“Shenzhen Bus”) miniprogram’s cycling section. Metro: Line 2/8 to Yantianxu Station (盐田墟站), Exit B; then walk 200meters to the Yantian Seafood Street entrance Bike-sharing: Available along the route; mountain bikes can be rented near Yantianxu Station (盐田墟站)and Dameisha Station (大梅沙站).Sightseeing cruises also depart from the nearby Golden Coast Pier.
