With 100 days to go before the 33rd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Shenzhen this November, Shenzhen Daily presents an exclusive interview with Eduardo Pedrosa, executive director of the APEC Secretariat.
During the interview, Pedrosa discussed the evolution of the three APEC meetings hosted by China. Their themes have progressed from trade and investment in 2001, to connectivity in 2014, and to sci-tech innovation and the future in 2026. In his view, this progression not only reflects China’s pursuit of high-quality development, but also represents a real-world manifestation of the APEC Putrajaya Vision 2040’s goals of openness, dynamism, and resilience.
This November, all eyes will be on Shenzhen. In addition to showcasing its achievements in development and innovation, the city will share with the world a story of “technology for people” — because the true value of technology lies in making innovation accessible, improving everyday lives, and earning people’s trust and appreciation.
