'Imagery of Macao' echoes in Shenzhen

On the evening of August 1, “Imagery of Macao,” an outstanding project awarded two grants from the National Art Fund, was staged at the Bay Opera of Shenzhen. Composed by young composer Fang Dongqing, the cello concert “Imagery of Macao” features twelve cellos at its core, artfully blending Chinese and Western instruments. Its eight movements unfold the Eight Scenic Spots of Macao, shaping a soul‑stirring audio‑version Macao “City Walk.” Within the flowing melodies, audiences are transported through Macao’s mountains, seas and alleyways, to feel the profound centuries‑old cultural heritage forged by Chinese‑Western integration.
