The Shenzhen Children's Palace — a cherished landmark of nostalgia for generations of locals — officially launched its trial operation Aug.1. Coinciding with the peak summer holiday season, this revitalized science education hub has quickly become a top destination for families, drawing crowds during its first four days of reopening.
The upgraded facility features three themed exhibition zones: the “Inspiration: Growth Fuel Station” on the basement level, the “Illumination: World of Exploration” on the second floor, and the “Launch: Innovation Workshop” on the third. These interconnected spaces blend physical awareness, scientific inquiry, and cutting-edge interactive tech experiences.
Highlighting the reopening is a spectacular 18.3-meter-diameter dome theater, currently offering complimentary screenings of science films such as "The Great Solar System" for free.
During the trial period, entry is managed via a real-name reservation system to control capacity. Visitors can secure free tickets by booking through the official WeChat mini program “Shenzhen Children's Palace.”
