Bridging city and sea: New green overpass opens at Shenzhen Bay Super HQ Base

From: Shenzhen Daily

The green-covered deck section over Binhai Boulevard at the Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base officially opened to the public on July 30. Spanning approximately 105,000 square meters, this urban green space marks a significant milestone in the city’s ecological development.

Situated along the central transverse axis of the Shenzhen Bay Central Green Axis Park, the newly opened area bridges the headquarters district with the coastal belt of Shenzhen Bay. It not only addresses the shortage of public spaces in the Super Headquarters Base but also reconnects a fragmented section of the coastal ecological corridor.

The Central Green Axis Park, the backbone of the base's spatial structure — defined as "One Core, Dual Hubs, and Four Ecological Corridors" — is a pivotal link in the "Connect Mountains and Seas" initiative. Covering 255,800 square meters, it stretches from Baishi Road in the north to Shenzhen Bay Park in the south. It weaves together an ecological chain connecting Tanglang Mountain, OCT Wetland, and Shenzhen Bay, creating four distinct natural ambiances: the tranquility of forests, the vitality of wetlands, the lushness of urban greenery, and the vastness of the bay.
