Nine Shenzhen companies make Fortune Global 500

Nine Shenzhen-based companies have made the 2026 Fortune Global 500, with four ranking among the world’s 100 largest companies by revenue.

Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China led the Shenzhen contingent at No. 48, followed by Huawei Investment & Holding at No. 81, BYD at No. 91 and Tencent Holdings at No. 97.
The other five were China Merchants Bank at No. 221, Luxshare Precision Industry at No. 337, SF Holding at No. 372, Shenzhen Investment Holdings at No. 421 and China Electronics Corp. at No. 451.
Tencent entered the top 100 for the first time after climbing 19 places from last year. Ping An, which reported revenue of US$158.65 billion, ranked 10th among financial companies and has appeared on the list for 17 consecutive years.
BYD recorded revenue of US$111.85 billion and profit of US$4.53 billion, making it the highest-ranked Chinese automaker or auto-parts company on this year’s list, according to Fortune’s Chinese-language edition.
Huawei was the highest-ranked high-technology company from the Chinese mainland by revenue, reporting more than US$122.5 billion. Fortune classified 38 companies on the list as high-technology businesses, which generated average revenue of US$104.4 billion and average profit of nearly US$22 billion.
The annual Global 500 ranks companies primarily by revenue. The companies on the 2026 list generated a combined US$43.1 trillion in 2025, up 3.2% from a year earlier and equivalent to more than one-third of global GDP. Their combined profit rose about 14% to US$3.39 trillion.
The revenue threshold for inclusion increased 3% to US$33.2 billion.
China placed 122 companies on the list, the second-largest number among the geographical markets counted by Fortune.
Amazon overtook Walmart to take the top position, ending the retailer’s 12-year run at No. 1. State Grid Corporation of China ranked third, followed by UnitedHealth Group, Saudi Aramco, Apple, McKesson, Alphabet, CVS Health and China National Petroleum.
