'Dream Voyage over the Bay' returns to SZ Bay MixC with 'Between Dreams and Wonderlands'

After attracting widespread attention during its debut, "Dream Voyage over the Bay" has returned to Shenzhen Bay MixC's White Cube with its second exhibition, "Between Dreams and Wonderlands."

Jointly presented by Art Belina and Shenzhen Bay MixC, the exhibition features works by two prominent contemporary artists — Fanny Brodar and August Vilella. Their contrasting visual styles come together under one roof to create an artistic journey filled with memory, imagination and emotion.

The first-floor, "Fanny's Playground," is a vibrant fantasy world of bold colors and playful characters. Featuring works inspired by Brodar's childhood memories, the space invites visitors to slow down and rediscover a sense of freedom and joy — especially for adults who still hold onto their curiosity.

Born in Oslo, Norway in 1971, Brodar is recognized for her expressive use of colors, imaginative figures and emotionally engaging storytelling. Her works have appeared in fashion and art publications including "Vogue" and "Harper's Bazaar."

On the second floor, "The Enchanting Forest" presents a more poetic universe. Vilella's signature wide-eyed characters, full of emotions from curiosity and tenderness to melancholy, guides viewers into a space between reality and dreams.

Born in Barcelona, Spain in 1986, Vilella is known for his intuitive oil painting practice, which has been dscribed by critics as "jazz painting". His works have been exhibited at international art fairs such as Art Basel and are held in the collections of celebrities and private collectors worldwide.
