SUIT launches global search for four key leadership roles

Shenzhen University of Information Technology (SUIT), a newly established public undergraduate-level vocational university, has announced a global recruitment drive to fill four senior leadership positions: dean of the School of Computer and Software, dean of the Institute of Vocational Education, deputy dean of the School of Marxism, and chief engineer of the Information Services Center.



The decision to open these critical roles simultaneously has generated significant interest across higher education and industry circles. The institution received approval from the Ministry of Education in June 2025.


Targeted requirements for key roles


Each position carries specific academic, technical, and leadership qualifications:

● Dean of the School of Computer and Software: Candidates must hold a doctoral degree and a professor-level senior professional title. The appointee will oversee the school's administrative affairs, strategic planning, program development, teaching, research, and faculty building. Key objectives include leading educational reforms, advancing scientific innovation, and expanding international and corporate partnerships.

● Dean of the Institute of Vocational Education: This role requires a doctoral degree and a professor-level senior professional title. The dean will lead the institute’s administration, attract top-tier academic talent, secure national and provincial research projects, and strengthen collaborations with international universities and research organizations.

● Deputy dean of the School of Marxism: Applicants must hold a doctoral degree, possess at least an associate senior professional title, and have been a member of the Communist Party of China for at least two years. The role involves assisting the dean with academic management, faculty development, and institutional coordination.

●Chief engineer of the Information Services Center: Candidates must hold a master’s degree or higher alongside an associate senior professional title. The chief engineer will shape the university's IT development strategy, design its technical architecture, and lead the deployment of campus-wide technologies such as AI, big data, and cloud computing.

All applicants are expected to demonstrate a proven track record of administrative or technical leadership and hold recognized standing within their respective fields.


Compensation, benefits, and institutional support


SUIT offers a competitive remuneration package alongside administrative and relocation support.



Appointees to the dean and deputy dean roles will be integrated into the university’s cadre selection system, serving an initial probationary period for middle-level managers under mutually agreed performance criteria.

Newly recruited leaders will have access to transitional housing in accordance with local policies. Additionally, the university will assist eligible candidates in applying for Shenzhen municipal subsidies, as well as national, provincial, or municipal talent programs.


Academic and research profile


The recruitment drive comes as SUIT continues to expand its academic and research footprint.

The university offers 64 majors, including 12 undergraduate programs, with a focus on integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, software technology, intelligent manufacturing, and modern communications. It currently ranks first nationally in the electronics and information discipline among vocational colleges according to the "Jinpingguo" rankings.

SUIT also maintains active partnerships with technology and engineering firms such as Huawei, Tencent, China Electronics Corp., DJI, and Shenzhen Inovance Technology Co., co-establishing 18 industry colleges and four advanced engineering institutes.

SUIT hosts 17 provincial and ministerial research platforms and 13 joint enterprise R&D centers. Annual external research funding approaches 100 million yuan(US$ 14.78million), and both Engineering Science and Materials Science place within the ESI global top 1%.

Doctoral-degree holders make up 56% of the full-time teaching staff (524 faculty members)at SUIT. The faculty includes four members ranked among the world’s top 2% most-cited scientists and one national "Huang Danian-style Teacher Team."
