Zuowei Technology Co. Ltd., based in Longhua District, has unveiled two humanoid caregiving robots capable of performing hands-on nursing tasks such as pouring water, covering users with blankets and assisting with personal hygiene, marking a step toward the practical application of embodied AI in eldercare.

The two robots — Tianshu and Tianji — were introduced at the company’s global product launch. Designed specifically for elderly care, they represent one of the latest efforts to move humanoid robots beyond laboratory demonstrations and toward real-world care settings.

Zuowei Technology has spent seven years developing intelligent nursing technologies. The company now offers more than 30 smart-care products backed by over 300 patents, with its solutions serving customers in more than 50 countries.

Unlike general-purpose humanoid robots, Tianshu and Tianji are designed to address six essential caregiving needs for people with severe mobility impairments: toileting, bathing, feeding, transferring, walking assistance and dressing.

The two robots work as a coordinated system. Tianshu serves as the decision-making hub, coordinating connected care devices, while Tianji provides close-range physical assistance and companionship. Designed with human-scale proportions, they can operate in confined spaces such as nursing-home corridors and residential doorways without making users feel intimidated.

The robots combine dexterous dual-arm manipulation with voice interaction, dialect recognition, emotion perception and around-the-clock monitoring. They are capable of performing delicate physical tasks while responding to users through natural conversation and issuing nighttime fall alerts. The system is also designed to integrate with existing smart-care equipment, allowing nursing homes and care providers to upgrade services without replacing their current infrastructure.

The launch comes as demand grows for technologies that can help address rising care needs in aging societies. According to the company, the new robots provide a commercially viable solution that combines safety, full-scenario adaptability and embodied AI for long-term care.

Zuowei Technology is part of an emerging eldercare technology cluster in Dalang Subdistrict’s Yifenghua Industrial Park, where companies specializing in smart nursing, rehabilitation equipment and medical devices are helping build one of Shenzhen’s earliest dedicated silver-economy industrial hubs.

As embodied AI expands beyond manufacturing into healthcare, the debut of Tianshu and Tianji highlights Longhua’s growing role in developing practical robotic solutions for one of society’s most pressing challenges.
