A section of the Taishanjian Trail in Shenzhen's Wutong Mountain Scenic Area will be temporarily closed from yesterday to Sept. 30 for safety improvement works, according to the Wutong Mountain Scenic Area Administration.
The closure follows the discovery of multiple safety hazards along the trail caused by years of heavy rainfall and geological activity, including slope collapses, damaged guardrails and loose paving stones.
The affected section extends from the Taishanjian Trail entrance, about 650 meters uphill from Wutong Mountain North Road, to the junction of the Taishanjian Trail and Fengling Path. The route will remain closed throughout the construction period. Authorities said the reopening date may be postponed if extreme weather affects the project schedule.

The entrance to the closed section of the Taishanjian Trail is cordoned off yesterday, as safety improvement works begin in Shenzhen's Wutong Mountain Scenic Area.

The northern end of the temporarily closed section of the Taishanjian Trail is fenced off during safety improvement works in Shenzhen's Wutong Mountain Scenic Area.
Visitors planning to hike to the summit via the Taishanjian Trail are advised to take an alternative route by turning onto Fengling Path from the Shanghuatai (Flower Viewing Platform) on Wutong Mountain North Road before reconnecting with the open section of the Taishanjian Trail.
The Wutong Mountain Scenic Area Administration said the project is intended to eliminate potential hazards and improve visitor safety. It apologized for the inconvenience and urged visitors to plan their routes in advance.
