Luohu has launched the Shuibei Gold and Jewelry Digital Intelligence Service Platform on June 26, marking a significant milestone in the digital transformation of China’s premier jewelry hub.

The launch event, themed “Digital Intelligence Empowers the Jewelry Capital · Co-creating the Industry’s Future,” was organized by the Luohu Bureau of Science, Technology, and Industry Informatization in partnership with China Unicom Shenzhen, with support from local district offices.

The initiative, which brought together government officials, industry associations, and leading digital service providers to witness the rollout of this new industrial infrastructure, aims to integrate cutting-edge AI technology into the traditional jewelry supply chain to maintain the district's competitive edge in the global market.

Shuibei is widely recognized as China’s largest and most comprehensive gold and jewelry hub. By the end of 2025, the area had reached several major industrial milestones:

●More than 9,000 jewelry corporate entities and 20 specialized trading markets.

● An industry scale exceeding 200 billion yuan (US$29.44 billion).

● Wholesale value accounting for approximately 50% of the national total.

● Gold and diamond delivery volumes representing 70% and 80% of China’s two major exchanges, respectively.

The cluster supports a complete supply chain, from R&D and intelligent manufacturing to livestream e-commerce, and is home to more than 3,000 professional designers who generate more than 10,000 new patents annually.

Despite its dominance, the industry faces evolving challenges in design innovation, marketing shifts, and the need for smarter manufacturing. To tackle modern challenges in design innovation and marketing, Luohu is leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to provide companies with a “lightweight” and low-cost path to digital transformation.

Developed by China Unicom, the platform serves as a bridge between policy support and technological empowerment. By integrating AI across the entire value chain, the platform is designed to help local businesses reduce operational costs, increase efficiency, and incubate original intellectual property (IP).

Feng Jian, deputy district mayor of Luohu, emphasized that the district is committed to providing “full-cycle” digital services to support the industry’s growth. “We will take this launch as an opportunity to ensure every firm in Shuibei has access to the digital resources they need to thrive," Feng said.

Li Zhishan, deputy general manager of China Unicom Shenzhen, added that the company would provide a “solid digital foundation” for thousands of firms in Shuibei.

The conference also featured a formal signing of a strategic cooperation agreement between the Luohu district government and China Unicom Shenzhen, aimed at breaking down existing barriers between government policy, technological application, and industrial resources. Industry executives shared insights on how digital adoption has already begun to reduce operational costs and enhance brand value.

The launch of the digital intelligence service platform signals a transition toward a more systematic and scaled digital ecosystem for Luohu's jewelry sector. Moving forward, the district plans to work closely with industry associations and service providers to optimize the platform’s functions. The goal is to create a deep integration of digital technology and traditional craftsmanship, ensuring Shuibei remains the “Jewelry Capital” in the age of AI.
