Futian District launched the Promotion Event for the Futian “10-100-1,000” Initiatives for New Quality Industries at the Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Science and Technology Park on June 26.
Under the theme “Smart-chain New Breed, Industrial New Paradigm,” the event marked a significant transition in Futian’s economic strategy, shifting from traditional policy support to comprehensive ecosystem cultivation and transforming conventional industrial parks into modern communities for new quality industries.
The launch event adopted an innovative “1+11” linkage model, featuring one main venue and 11 subvenues distributed across the district. The event brought together a high-profile lineup of academicians, top-tier venture capitalists, industry-leading enterprises, and leading researchers.
During the promotion, Futian unveiled its “Urban New Quality Industrial Community” concept, a new industrial platform designed to transcend the physical limitations of traditional industrial parks. The communities will act as “ecosystem nurturers,” seamlessly integrating scientific R&D, business offices, urban living, and public services. By connecting research, pilot testing, technology demonstration, and talent accommodation, Futian aims to attract enterprises through a vibrant industrial ecosystem, achieving an organic evolution where “communities link industries like pearls on a necklace.”
The district also unveiled its first group of 11 New Quality Industrial Communities. An AI-generated promotion film also debuted at the event, featuring four local mascots — the macaque, black-faced spoonbill, Eurasian otter and fiddler crab — as “mystery explorers” touring the communities. The visual narrative transformed the ambitious “10-100-1,000” initiative into a vivid story of urban and industrial synergy.

Cui Shuguang, a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and president of the Shenzhen Research Institute of Future Network of Intelligence, shared his vision for using AI to reconstruct “digital electromagnetic space” to support a diverse information industry. Yu Ying, founding partner and vice president of the Shenzhen InnoX Academy, discussed building hard-tech empowerment paths from innovation to mass production, helping AI hardware projects scale globally from Shenzhen.
Industry representatives also took the stage to share practical experiences. A spokesperson from JLC Technology Group explained how the Meilin AI Hardware Innovation Community reduces trial-and-error costs for startups by streamlining the path from idea to prototype. Lin Honglin, vice president of the Products Department of Elephant Robotics, analyzed the supportive environment for talent, highlighting how Futian’s customized policies address the pain points of attracting and retaining high-end professionals in the tech sector.
Following the main ceremony, the 11 subvenues will host a series of specialized activities including supply chain matchmaking, project roadshows, and themed salons. Each community focuses on a specific strategic industry: the Meilin community targets the AI hardware ecosystem; X-Hub in Xinzhou focuses on life sciences; and the communities in Jinsha, Shenwan, and Yuanling address cultural-tech fusion, future transportation, and urban intelligent manufacturing, respectively. Additionally, the Futian “City of Design” Industrial Design Community will host a forum and exhibition exploring how design empowers advanced manufacturing and integrates with AI.
Other subvenues, including Huaqiangbei OPC Innovative Industries Community and the Shangbu Marine Economy Community, will also continue to roll out activities.
