Luohu promotes business environment in São Paulo

The “2026 China (Shenzhen)-Brazil (São Paulo) Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange and Luohu District Business Environment Promotion Conference” was held at the BYD Vision Center in São Paulo on June 15.
Organized by the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Commerce and the Luohu District People’s Government, the event drew approximately 150 attendees, including government officials, trade leaders, and representatives from financial and corporate sectors in both nations.
Yu Peng, the Chinese consul general in São Paulo, opened the event by highlighting the growing synergy between China and Brazil as key “Global South” partners. He noted that under the strategic direction of both heads of state, the two countries have seen enhanced political trust and expanding trade. Yu specifically pointed to the strong industrial alignment between Shenzhen and São Paulo, urging business communities to further unlock the potential for pragmatic economic progress.
Zhang Feimeng, director of the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Commerce, emphasized Shenzhen’s role as a leading open economy. She pledged that the city would continue to deepen trade ties with Brazil and the wider Latin American region, fostering an environment conducive to bilateral growth.
A significant highlight of the conference was the official unveiling of the Shenzhen Liaison Office in São Paulo. The launch was led by Zhang and Li Tie, general manager of BYD Brazil, with Consul General Yu Peng and Brazilian Federal Senator Alexandre Giordano serving as witnesses. The new office is designed to act as a strategic hub, assisting Shenzhen companies in navigating the Brazilian market while facilitating two-way investment and industrial resource matching.
During the session, Shi Dongxin, vice district mayor of Luohu, presented the district’s unique investment landscape. He highlighted Luohu’s competitive edge in several key sectors, including: modern services and commercial distribution, financial services, cross-border economic cooperation.
Brazilian officials from the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) and InvestSP, the investment portal for the state of São Paulo, praised Shenzhen’s track record in innovation and expressed their eagerness to deepen economic and investment cooperation between the two regions.
The exchange featured insights from industry leaders. Luohu-based Optimize Integration Group and Brazilian food processor Marfrig shared their experiences in import-export trade, while BYD Brazil and São Paulo Metro showcased their progress in rail transit and industrial synergy.
The event concluded with a group signing ceremony for five major projects. These agreements cover institutional cooperation, trade, and service partnerships, signaling strong mutual confidence and a commitment to shared development between Shenzhen and Brazilian firms.
