The St. Regis Shenzhen, situated in the central business district of Luohu District, officially launched its "Truly Thai Flavor" food festival yesterday, transforming the hotel’s signature Social Restaurant into a sophisticated showcase of Southeast Asian gastronomy.

An exclusive opening reception was held at the venue, featuring a traditional Thai dance performance that preceded the hotel’s iconic champagne sabering ritual — a hallmark of the St. Regis brand. The ceremony set an elegant tone for an evening dedicated to cross-cultural culinary exploration.

Kajtiti Wiwatwanont, consul general of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Guangzhou, delivered remarks underscoring the festival’s significance as a platform for cultural diplomacy. "Food is one of the most accessible bridges between nations," he noted, expressing his hope that the event would further deepen the culinary and people-to-people ties between Thailand and Shenzhen.

At the helm of the kitchen is visiting guest chef Boonrit Noranual, a Thai culinary veteran with nearly 40 years of expertise in traditional Thai cuisine. Chef Boonrit’s curated menu is built upon the classic balance of flavors that define Thai cuisine. Signature offerings include spicy green papaya salad, rich and aromatic Tom Yum Goong, steamed sea bass with lime, and prawn curry, all rounded out with traditional mango sticky rice and authentic Thai iced tea for a complete sensory journey.

The "Truly Thai Flavor" festival will run through July 31 at Social Restaurant, located on the 95th floor of The St. Regis Shenzhen. The event offers diners the opportunity to indulge in an authentic Thai dining experience while enjoying expansive, panoramic views of the Shenzhen skyline — delivering a distinctive fusion of elevated setting and regional authenticity.
