Discounted train tickets in lychee season (2026.6.15-7.5)

Lychee season is in full swing, and sweet, juicy lychee in Guangdong is a must-try. China Railway Guangzhou Group is collaborating with Dongguan, Maoming and Zhanjiang cities to roll out cultural tourism programs, offering travelers a chance to experience local culture and scenic highlights.

From June 15 to July 5, full-time students aged 14 and above who are currently enrolled in high school or below, as well as 2026 National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao) candidates, can enjoy a 20% discount on second-class seats for selected trains arriving at Humen Station, Maoming South Station, or Zhanjiang North Station. Parents may also receive the same discount.

Passengers should purchase tickets at the original price. After arriving at Humen Station, Maoming South Station, or Zhanjiang North Station, they can visit the designated counter to present the required documents and claim a refund of 20% of the ticket fare.

Students must provide their ID cards, along with the original student ID card or a copy. Accompanying parents must also present their ID cards and the original or a copy of the page in the household registration booklet proving they are the student’s legal guardian.

The same ID documentation can be used for the discount once per arrival station. The refund must be completed within seven days of arrival. Tickets bought on the train are not eligible for the promotion.

More than 260 high-speed train services are participating, with routes including major departure stations across Guangdong and Hunan provinces.
