As the first event of its kind in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), the competition drew approximately 100 skiing enthusiasts from across the nation.

Benchmarked against professional industry standards, the event featured adult men’s and women’s categories across three disciplines: Carving Turn Middle, Carving Turn Short, and Freeride. A distinguished panel of domestic and international judges was invited to ensure professional officiating.

The competition served as a rigorous test of core technical skills, such as line control, center-of-gravity adjustment, and riding fluency, providing a comprehensive showcase of the professional skills and competitive strength of adult snowboard athletes.

Participants said the event provides snowboarding enthusiasts a year-round platform to enjoy the sport, access professional-grade services, and refine their techniques.

According to the organizing committee, the competition successfully overcame the geographical limitations of snowless southern China. By enabling local athletes to compete in high-standard tournaments close to home, the event plays an important role in promoting the standardized development of recreational skiing.

As a dedicated indoor snowboard technical event, the competition has enriched the GBA’s sports and cultural landscape while strengthening the foundation for winter sports in the region.

Looking ahead, the event will continue to focus on the GBA and aims to develop a distinctive local IP for ice and snow sports. Its goal is to further popularize technical snowboarding and establish the GBA as a benchmark for winter sports development in southern China.
