Lotus flowers have begun blooming at Honghu Park in Luohu District, marking the gentle arrival of this year’s lotus season. While the pond has yet to reach its peak splendor, early blossoms in shades of pink, white, and yellow — alongside clusters of unopened buds — have already drawn steady streams of visitors eager to enjoy the view.

The park presents a tranquil scene where flowers, leaves, and birds coexist in quiet harmony. Dewdrops and raindrops cling to open blooms, their petals swaying lightly in the breeze. Pond herons rest on broad lotus leaves and giant waterlilies, while egrets glide overhead, skimming the thick green carpet of foliage below.

Every summer, Honghu Park — the largest lotus cultivation base in South China — hosts hundreds of blooming lotus varieties. The 2026 Shenzhen Lotus Festival is scheduled to take place at the park from June 12 to July 12, offering residents and tourists an extended opportunity to appreciate the city’s signature floral spectacle.
