As a key artistic component of the 22nd China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF), the Infinite Inspiration GBA Youth Art Exhibition officially opened at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Bao’an District on May 21, providing an inclusive platform for cross-Strait youth to collaborate and foster high-quality cultural development within the GBA.

Under the theme of "Starting a New Chapter with Quality," the exhibition features 27 sets of works by 26 young artists and groups from Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. Spanning approximately 12,000 square meters, the showcase highlights new quality imaging, with digital and experimental media accounting for over 50% of the displayed works.

The opening ceremony was attended by Sun Xiaoyun, deputy director of the Publicity Department of the Bao'an District Committee; Fan Junmeng, assistant general manager of the China Arts and Entertainment Group; and Jin Jun, dean of the School of Design and Arts at the Beijing Institute of Technology, alongside youth artist delegates from across the Asia-Pacific region.

A highlight of the exhibition is the dedicated co-creation unit featuring Taiwanese artists. At the opening ceremony, artists Yeh Shang-ta and Xiao Minjian (ANO) produced live works titled "No Boundaries" and "Symbiosis," inviting the audience to participate using customized stickers to symbolize the dissolution of geographical borders through art. Meanwhile, an Asia-Pacific Youth Artist Exchange Salon brought together six creators from China's Hong Kong and Taiwan, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Australia to engage in a dialogue centered on new quality imaging, establishing a fresh network for creative exchange across the Asia-Pacific region.

The exhibition is organized into three sections. "New Quality · Vision" focuses on digital imaging and experimental animation to capture the contemporary perceptions of GBA youth. "Light and Shadow · Perception" emphasizes the intersection of art and technology, showcasing immersive multimedia works that encourage public engagement. Finally, "Artistic Fusion · Integration" gathers traditional easel art and public art installations to build a diverse creative ecosystem for the Greater Bay Area through cross-media storytelling.

An artistic innovation is on show.

The Infinite Inspiration GBA Youth Art Competition attracted 1,172 entries spanning traditional art, AIGC (AI-generated content), and experimental film. From this pool, 88 works were shortlisted for the exhibition, with 32 receiving various awards for their excellence. The exhibition will remain open to the public free of charge until May 25, offering a comprehensive look at the future of regional artistic innovation.
