The film's Chinese mainland debut features a 4K-restored version, offering enhanced color and visual detail for the 1975 production. It is also receiving an IMAX release, providing audiences with an even more immersive viewing experience.
Based on Peter Benchley's 1974 novel, "Jaws" follows a seaside town thrown into panic after a massive killer shark begins attacking beachgoers during the busy summer season. Police chief Martin Brody wants to close the beaches, but local officials fear losing tourism revenue. As the danger escalates, Brody teams up with a marine biologist and a seasoned seafarer on a risky mission to track down and kill the deadly predator.
Produced on a budget of US$9 million, "Jaws" has grossed an astonishing US$495 million worldwide. It became the highest-grossing film in history until the record was shattered by "Star Wars" two years later. The film holds a rating of 8.1/10 on IMDb and ranks 203rd on the website's Top 250 Movies list.
The film has a runtime of 124 minutes.
