Shenzhen Children’s Park is set to reopen its gates this coming June, a move eagerly anticipated by local families following an 18-month renovation.

Originally opened in June in 1987, the park holds a special place in the hearts of Shenzhen residents, serving as a nostalgic hub of childhood memories centered around its classic mechanical rides.

While preserving iconic features like the elephant slides and twelve zodiac stone carvings, the upgraded park introduces six distinct thematic zones. Highlights include a sprawling 300-square-meter 3D sandpit, forest exploration trails, and water play areas — creating a seamless blend of participation, education, and fun.

The upgraded 39,300-square-meter green space seamlessly blends tradition with modernity, introducing high-tech attractions such as a treehouse adventure and jungle zip-lines and rope net challenge. Meanwhile, the newly unveiled Floating Wetland Island and Nature Garden — home to more than 140 species of flora — allow children to learn about nature through immersive play.

China’s first Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) parking garage of the park will offer 440 smart parking lots.

Complementing the renovation is a cutting-edge transportation solution: China’s first Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) parking garage. With 440 smart spaces, the system allows drivers to simply park in the lobby and leave. Robotic attendants and elevators handle the rest automatically, ensuring ultra-fast retrieval and storage times of just 60 to 150 seconds. Visitors can reserve parking slots in advance via the miniprogram “罗湖共享停车” (“Luohu Shared Parking”).

Opening time: 10 a.m. -6 p.m., Tuesday to Sunday

Add: 12 Tongle Road, Luohu District (罗湖区童乐路12号)

Metro: Line 3 to Shaibu Station (晒布站), Exit B or C
