FIS 1st Asian Indoor Alpine Ski Championships opens in Shenzhen

The “Huafa Snow Bonski Cup” FIS 1st Asian Indoor Alpine Ski Championships officially kicked off yesterday morning at the Huafa Qianhai Snow World in Shenzhen, marking China’s first indoor international ski competition certified by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS).

Focusing on the alpine slalom discipline, the two-day event has drawn talented young skiers from 12 countries and regions.

Following the opening ceremony, guests observed a milestone exchange of honorary titles between the Ski Association of Hong Kong (SAHK) and the Ski Association of Shenzhen, alongside the official inauguration of the SAHK’s Shenzhen office.
This partnership underscores a deepening cooperation between the two cities in event co-hosting, talent cultivation, and industry standardization, collectively elevating the profile of winter sports within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
By leveraging Hong Kong’s international network and Shenzhen’s industrial prowess, the two cities are emerging as a new engine for winter sports in the Asia-Pacific region. Their collaboration continues to attract prestigious international sports properties (IPs), promote Chinese standards for indoor venue operations, and foster cross-border exchanges across Asia.

This ski event is approved by the FIS and organized by the Ski Association of Hong Kong (SAHK), with the Ski Association of Shenzhen, Shenzhen Ronghua Real Estate Investment Co., Shenzhen Huafa Ice and Snow Sports Co. and BONSKI Sports serving as co-organizers.
