Futian CBD light show to pause for maintenance

The light show in Shenzhen’s Futian CBD will be suspended starting April 30 for system upgrades and maintenance, according to a recent notice released by the Futian District Urban Management and Law Enforcement Bureau.

The suspension is intended to facilitate comprehensive maintenance and upgrades of the show’s lighting performance system and related facilities, aimed at ensuring long-term operational safety while enhancing artistic quality and smart management capabilities.  

The show is expected to resume on Oct. 1. 

Launched in September 2018, the Futian CBD night light show features coordinated light displays across the facades of 43 buildings in the district’s CBD area. Over the past eight years, it has become one of Shenzhen’s most iconic night views and a shared urban memory for residents and visitors alike.
