The second installment of the “Hello APEC Shekou Cultural Fair” series event will be held in Shekou on Sunday (April 19), inviting visitors to embark on an immersive "Journey into East Asia."

Organized by the Shekou Management and Service Center for Expats, the event offers residents and visitors a unique opportunity to explore the distinctive traditions of Japan and South Korea without leaving Shenzhen, celebrating the vibrant fusion of Asia-Pacific cultures.

Running from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the first floor of the Shekou MSCE on Shiyun Road in Shekou, the fair will feature dedicated Japanese and South Korean exhibition zones, alongside a lively flea market. The event seamlessly integrates gourmet food, live performances, interactive experiences, and cultural education into a single afternoon.

In the South Korean section, visitors can try on traditional Hanbok, learn to make gimbap and rice cakes, enjoy face painting, and sample authentic kimchi and specialty snacks. Meanwhile, the Japanese section will feature a professional Matcha tea ceremony, Japanese-style bread, Ramune soda, and anime cosplay, alongside interactive snack-themed games.

Educational highlights include the “APEC Knowledge Station,” where participants can learn about Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation and win prizes through quizzes. Language enthusiasts can also join mini-classes in Japanese and Korean to pick up practical phrases and enter a lucky draw.

A major highlight of the fair will be the debut of the viral character IP "Paby." Its original South Korean designer will be on-site to share creative insights and interact with fans, making this fair a must-visit cultural destination for the weekend.
