The launching ceremony for the 2026 National Cancer Prevention and Control Awareness Week and China Anti-Cancer Day was held in Qianhai on April 15.
Hosted by the Chinese Anti-cancer Association (CACA), the event aimed to disseminate scientific anti-cancer philosophies across society and boosted the high-quality development of cancer prevention and control.
Academician Fan Daiming, president of the Chinese Anti-cancer Association, said that cancer prevention and control is a systematic endeavor vital to national health. He called for integrative approaches and the advancement of three key transitions: from domestic to international, from academic to cultural, and from the present to the future.

Fan also highlighted that the CACA has mobilized 16,000 nationally certified experts to promote standardized diagnosis and treatment based on the CACA Guidelines, ensuring more patients have access to premium medical services.
During the event, a series of anti-cancer cooperation projects were launched simultaneously to build a comprehensive cancer prevention and control ecosystem.
The Chinese Anti-Cancer Association and Fude Life Insurance jointly launched a special cancer commercial insurance cooperation program, rolling out China’s first exclusive anti-cancer insurance guided by the authoritative CACA Guidelines.
It deeply integrates authoritative diagnosis and treatment standards with insurance services, driving the transformation of commercial insurance from single compensation to full-cycle health management and easing the public’s economic burden of cancer treatment.
The National Cancer Prevention and Control Awareness Week (April 15) was initiated and continuously developed by the Chinese Anti-cancer Association in 1995. After 31 sessions, it has become China’s longest-running, most widely covered and influential science popularization brand for cancer prevention, playing a key role in improving public cancer literacy and advancing early cancer prevention and treatment.
