The blaze occurred at around 2:48 a.m. in the Pingshan District’s Maluan Subdistrict, according to the district’s fire and rescue bureau. Municipal- and district-level emergency and firefighting teams were dispatched immediately and brought the fire under control.
BYD said the affected structure was a parking garage used exclusively for test and scrapped vehicles. “The fire has been extinguished, and there were no injuries,” the company said in a statement.
Videos posted on Chinese social media earlier in the morning showed thick smoke billowing from the facility, with visible flames, prompting public concern about a possible factory fire.

Authorities temporarily closed nearby Maluan North Road as emergency crews continued their operations.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
