The opening ceremony of Ma Xinle’s themed art exhibition, “Galloping Thousands of Miles, Arriving Safely,” was held Friday at the Cloud Viewing Floor of the Ping An Finance Center in Shenzhen.
Following successful stops in Beijing and Hong Kong, this exhibition marks the third leg of the celebrated Chinese-born American painter’s "Year of the Horse" tour. Staged atop a landmark building in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the exhibition presents a visual feast that bridges Eastern and Western aesthetics through the concept of "cloud art."

The exhibition features four series: “Galloping Thousands of Miles,” “Tang Dynasty Figures,” “Life in the U.S.” and “Flower-and-Bird Sketches,” providing a comprehensive showcase of Ma’s recent artistic achievements. The show highlights the artist’s deep understanding of both traditional Chinese culture and Western art.
Ma’s works cover a wide range of subjects and styles. Rooted in the Tang Dynasty (618–907) tradition, his art is vivid, magnificent and strongly ethnic. At the same time, he incorporates the essence of Western painting’s color and composition, resulting in a rigorous and vibrant style. Through long-term practice, he has developed a unique approach that combines realism with freehand brushwork, line expression with three-dimensional modeling, and ink with color.

The exhibition, now open to the public at the Cloud Viewing Floor of the Ping An Finance Center, transforms Shenzhen’s iconic skyscraper into a“cloud art museum.”Visitors can admire Ma’s galloping horses, Tang figures, U.S. scenes and flower-and-bird paintings while enjoying 360-degree panoramic views of the Shenzhen-Hong Kong skyline, an immersive experience that allows one to“see the clouds and feel the galloping in the clouds.”
