Drink and discover at whisky and cocktail events in SZ this weekend

This April, Futian Shangri-La, Shenzhen has once again transformed into a haven for alcoholic beverage enthusiasts, hosting two major events — Hey Whisky 2026 and Hey In Spirit 2026 — this weekend, offering attendees an immersive journey into the world of fine drinks.

Now in its ninth edition, Hey Whisky brings together leading global spirits companies such as Bacardi, Brown-Forman, and Pernod Ricard, alongside a diverse array of independent and niche brands from around the world. 

With one ticket, attendees can sample whiskies from more than 200 brands, with the exception of limited-edition or rare aged expressions, which are available at an additional cost. A rare opportunity for those who wish to explore a wide spectrum of global whisky styles in one setting.

The event also features a dedicated zone curated by some of China's most seasoned whisky collectors, which showcases private collections including rare vintage bottles and carefully selected independent bottlings. These premium offerings, despite the requirement of separate tasting fees, may offer surprise to serious connoisseurs.

This year's masterclasses features an extensive lineup presented by industry leaders and brand ambassadors. These sessions delve into the latest trends of the whisky sector, unpack the stories behind renowned distilleries, and provide expert guidance on tasting techniques.

Adding further prestige to the event, the China leg of the Diageo World Class competition will be held at Hey Whisky for the first time. Top bartenders from across the country are set to showcase their creativity and craftsmanship for audiences in southern China.

Running alongside the whisky festival is the inaugural Hey In Spirit cocktail festival, which brings together 23 acclaimed bars from across Asia, including venues featured on Asia's 50 Best Bars and other global rankings. Bartenders from these bars will present a wide selection of inventive cocktails, offering visitors a chance to experience world-class mixology without leaving Shenzhen.
