Shenzhen Metro weaves a citywide sports circle

From: Original

In response to growing demand for healthier lifestyles among residents, Shenzhen Metro has introduced an innovative “Metro + fitness” model in recent years. Building on the city’s rail transit network, the initiative repurposes and revitalizes underused spaces to create a wide range of sports facilities suited to local conditions.

Tennis courts, badminton courts, pickleball courts, and full-scale gyms have been integrated into these areas, effectively linking daily commuting with physical activity. The model enables citizens to exercise as soon as they step out of a Metro station, making fitness more accessible than ever.
