Dapingzhang Forest Park: A natural retreat

Known as Dongguan’s “natural oxygen bar,” Dapingzhang Forest Park boasts a forest coverage rate of over 90% and air rich with negative ions. For those seeking a leisurely walk or a more challenging hike, the park offers two recommended routes:

Leisure walk (easy / relaxed): South Gate entrance → Dai Ethnic Corridor → Cuiping Square → Fangyuan → Plant Maze → Bamboo Garden

Hike (more active): South Gate entrance → hiking avenue → Guanyinmao Scenic Area → Guanyinmao Summit Platform → Guanyin Pavilion → Qingfeng Terrace → return via hiking avenue

Must-visit spots

Fairy Lake: A pleasant surprise along the cycling path. With shimmering waters and gentle breezes carrying the scent of greenery, it’s an ideal spot to rest and capture nature-inspired photos.

Dai Ethnic Corridor: A landmark feature of the park. The crescent-shaped Moon Lake and the corridor’s distinctive architectural style create a picturesque scene. Stroll across Jinshui Bridge to take in the surrounding landscape — a perfect place for a relaxed pause.

Cuiping Square: Connected to the Dai Ethnic Corridor, this open area offers wide views and tree-lined paths with smooth, paved surfaces. It’s a great spot for a short break while enjoying the park’s tranquil scenery.

Bamboo Path: Surrounded by lush bamboo groves and accompanied by a year-round stream, this trail is bathed in dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves. With its natural ambiance, it’s a top choice for photography enthusiasts.

Qingfeng Terrace: One of the park’s scenic overlooks, surrounded by rolling hills and verdant forest. From here, visitors can admire one of the world’s largest golf courses, the park’s majestic peaks, and even catch a distant view of Shenzhen’s Guanlan area. It’s an excellent destination for those looking to enjoy panoramic views while engaging in light outdoor activity.
