The exhibition brings together a selection of major works from recent years by three Chinese artists born in the 1980s: Ge Yan, Qi Wenzhang and Xu Dawei. Working in distinct artistic languages, the three artists respond to a central question: when contemporary art becomes overly rhetorical, how can painting return to the experiential fabric of everyday life?

Visitors view the paintings on display at L-Art Gallery.
Ge blurs the boundaries between historical imagery and contemporary space, using theatrical light and shadow to lend the act of viewing a quiet tension. Qi turns a calm, restrained gaze toward the “nameless” figures of the city, introducing subtle absurdity and alienation into ordinary scenes. Xu, meanwhile, transforms visual experience into a psychological space shaped by introspection through the rhythm of color and the imagination of form.
Though their artistic approaches differ, the three artists create a tacit and meaningful dialogue within the exhibition space, each reawakening visitors' visual experience in a unique way and opening up a deeper spiritual realm.
