SZ, HK entrepreneurs chart new cooperation plans in Qianhai

A celebration marking the 9th anniversary of the Guangdong-HK-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance and the 10th anniversary of the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce Qianhai Shenzhen was held in Qianhai on March 22.
More than 500 entrepreneurs from Shenzhen and Hong Kong, along with leaders of business associations, met to discuss strategies for Shenzhen-Hong Kong integration and jointly charted a new chapter in the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

In his welcome remarks, Choi Koon-shum, chairman of the Guangdong-HK-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance and president of the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce Qianhai Shenzhen, reviewed the journey of hard work and growth since the establishment of the two organizations.
He said the alliance and the chamber have become high-level business groups with extensive ties to government and business communities at home and abroad, and have established branches in multiple ASEAN and Middle Eastern countries, making them a powerful platform for supporting China’s high-quality development of the GBA and connecting China with the rest of the world.

At the anniversary celebration, the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Industrial Cooperation and Development Committee was officially unveiled. The committee will serve as an important coordinating platform for Shenzhen-Hong Kong industrial collaboration, promoting the deep integration of industrial and supply chains and the efficient flow of resources and key factors.
The Shenzhen-Hong Kong Joint Innovation Zone under the “Specialized and Sophisticated” SMEs Board was also launched simultaneously. Jointly created by the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce Qianhai Shenzhen and the Shenzhen Qianhai Equity Exchange, the zone aims to build a relay-style financial service channel that supports companies through the journey of “nurturing in Shenzhen, listing in Hong Kong, and expanding globally,” helping specialized and innovative firms achieve fast growth.

Leung Chun-ying, vice chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, emphasized that Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation is the core driving force of the GBA’s development, and Qianhai is at the forefront of Shenzhen-Hong Kong integrated development. The establishment of the committee and the zone is an important move to deepen industrial collaboration and strengthen financial support, aligning with national strategy and the development needs of Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
He expected all sectors in Shenzhen and Hong Kong to take this opportunity to further advance the alignment of rules and mechanisms, improve two-way service systems, and help Hong Kong better integrate into the country’s overall development.
