Global water engineering expert joins SUIT as distinguished professor

Shenzhen University of Information Technology (SUIT) has officially appointed Dragan A. Savić, a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and a Member of the European Academy of Sciences, as a Distinguished Professor and the appointment was finalized during a signing and certificate presentation ceremony held at the university March 19.

The appointment allows Professor Savić, who is a world-renowned authority in water engineering and digital transformation, to bring more than 40 years of expertise in urban water systems and smart infrastructureto Shenzhen.
He delivered a specialized lecture titled "AI-Driven Solutions for Future Water Resilience"on March 18, showcasing cutting-edge research in smart water systems to SUIT faculty and students.

The recruitment aligns with SUIT’s goal of becoming a world-class vocational university with Chinese characteristics. Miao Ningli, Partysecretary of SUIT, highlighted several key objectives for this partnership:

During the event, SUIT president Wang Hui signed the talent introduction agreement and presented Professor Savić with his Distinguished Professor certificate. Following the formalities, Savić toured the university’s primary research platforms to discuss the practical execution of upcoming teaching and research projects.
